Soft X-ray laser-plasma source for spectral instrumentation calibration
- 1. Budker Nuclear Physics Institute, Novosibirsk (Russian Federation)
Description
Emission characteristics of a laser-plasma source (LPS) utilizing a YAG:Nd laser with pulse energy of 0.3 J have been investigated in a range of photon energies from 100 to 500 eV using a spectrometer constructed on a base of multilayer X-ray mirrors. The spectral distribution of the number of photons emitted from a tungsten target under the laser pulse action has been measured. Line spectra of multicharge ions were observed in experiments with graphite and beryllium targets. 7 refs., 4 figs
