Description

Thermo-hydraulic behavior of inverted annular flow has been investigated in horizontal and vertical channels with different diameters under various subcoolings, velocities and superheatings of heat transfer wall using Freon 113. The effects of Reynolds number, equilibrium quality and wall superheating on Nusselt number are clarified for channel diameters and the flow direction, and then the empirical correlation is proposed. A data base on vapor film thickness is established for these parameters and the empirical correlation is obtained. Finally, the frictional multiplier of inverted annular flow to liquid single phase flow is grasped. (author)
