Current methods of seismic analysis of power plants. Direct method of obtaining floor spectra. Application to a fast neutron and a pressurized water power plant

Description

The basic data for seismic analysis of nuclear reactor is the ground response spectrum. From this spectrum two methods are in current use for the seismic analysis: the direct time integration and the response spectrum method. In the direct time integration one resolves the motion equations and calculates the displacements and stresses for one or many accelerogramms representing as well as possible the ground spectrum. Such a method can be used in nonlinear analysis but appears uneasy and expensive in computing time. The response spectrum method calculates the eingen vector amplitudes. A direct method of floor spectrum calculation from the ground spectrum is presented and applied to two different nuclear power plants (Super Phenix is taken as example)

Abstract (French)

La donnee de base pour l'analyse de la tenue des reacteurs nucleaires aux seismes est le spectre de sol. A partir de cette donnee on utilise essentiellement deux methodes pour effectuer l'analyse sismique: la methode dynamique directe, et la methode spectrale. La methode dynamique directe consiste a calculer par resolution numerique des equations en fonction du temps, le mouvement des differents points, et les contraintes en reponse a un ou plusieurs accelerogrammes representant le mieux possible les spectres de sol. Cette methode peut etre utilisee lorsque le comportement des structures devient non lineaire, par contre, elle est relativement lourde et peut etre couteuse. La methode spectrale utilise le spectre de sol pour obtenir l'amplitude des modes propres des structures. Une methode d'obtention directe des spectres de plancher a partir des spectres de sol est presentee et appliquee a deux types de reacteur (dont Super Phenix)
