Automatic translation: In recent years, the international community has been paying more and more attention to the issue of long-term medical consequences of the Chernobyl accident. This is due to the fact that the accident led to radioactive contamination of significant territories in Russia and abroad. A number of scientific studies devoted to the study of the state of healthy people exposed to radiation indicate a higher incidence of morbidity. This is most dangerous for the female population, since it is known that the mammary gland is the second organ after the gonads in terms of radiosensitivity. Women in these areas have a higher level of congenital fetal anomalies, 8% more thyroid diseases.
Abstract (Russian)
В последние годы международное сообщество все больше уделяет внимание вопросу отдаленных медицинских последствий аварии на ЧАЭС. Это связано с тем, что авария привела к радиоактивному загрязнению значительных территорий России и за рубежом. Ряд научных исследований, посвященных изучению состояния здоровых лиц, подвергшихся воздействию радиации, свидетельствует о более высокой частоте заболеваемости. Наиболее опасно это для женского населения, поскольку известно, что молочная железа является вторым органом после гонад по радиочувствительности. У женщин этих районов отмечается выше уровень врожденных аномалий плода, на 8% больше заболеваний щитовидной железы.Additional details
