Application for environmental radioactive pollution
Creators
Description
On using Cs137 to K40 ratio as an indicator for environmental radioactive pollution from fallout through environmental roots (soil, plant and milk) through the discrimination factor (Df) and the observed ratio (Or) in order to build a complete ecological model, reaching human pollution, taking in to consideration the rate of individual food consumption. Measurements were done by using high purity germanium detector (HPGe), with 76 cm3 volume. Crystal and 2.2 keV power resolution at 1332 keV gamma line coming from the radioactive sour se Co60. The measurement covered 41 places in Ninevah governor at Results obtained show that the average value of total Or was 0.045. This result is somewhat, higher than the normal value, Known as 0.03 indicating that there is a certain degree of pollution. (author)
