Description
The physical purpose of the KEKB/Belle was the inspection of Kobayashi-Maskawa theory. It can be said that this objective was attained by the discovery of the CP-Violation in B-meson system in 2001 and by the measurements after that. Since the Kobayashi-Maskawa theory is a part of the Standard Model. KEK/Belle has afforded the verification of the Standard Model. The purpose of proposed superKEKB, on the other hand, is a 'new physics' beyond the Standard Model. It is expected that 'new physics' can be detected at B Factory if the integrated luminosity reaches 50ab-1. While the highest peak luminosity of the present KEKB ever attained is 1.76x1034 cm-1s-1, 5x1035 cm-1s-1 is the target value for SuperKEKB. How such a high luminosity will be attained is described.
