Description
The turbulent flow through a wall subchannel of a rod bundle was investigated experimentally by means of hotwires und Pitot-tubes. The aim of this investigation was to get experimental information on the transport properties of turbulent flow especially on the momentum transport. Detailed data were measured of the distributions of the time-mean velocity, the turbulence intensities and, hence the kinetic of turbulence, of the shear stresses in the directions normal and parallel to the walls, and of the wall shear stresses. The pitch-to-diameter ratio of the rods equal to the wall-to-diameter ratio was 1.15, the Reynolds number of this investigation was Re = 1.23.105. On the basis of the measurements the eddy viscosities normal and parallel to the walls were calculated. The eddy viscosities observed showed a considerable deviation from the data known up-to-now and from the assumptions introduced in the codes. (orig.)

Die turbulente Stroemung in einem Wandkanal eines Stabbuendels wurde mit Hitzdraehten und Pitotrohren experimentell untersucht. Ziel war, Informationen ueber die Transporteigenschaften turbulenter Stroemungen insbesondere hinsichtlich des Impulstransportes zu gewinnen. Detaillierte Verteilungen des zeitlichen Mittelwerts der Stroemungsgeschwindigkeit, der Turbulenzintensitaeten in den drei Richtungen und damit der kinetischen Energie der Turbulenz, sowie der turbulenten Schubspannungen senkrecht und parallel zu den Waenden und der Wandschubspannung wurden gemessen. Das Stababstandsverhaeltnis war gleich dem Wandabstandsverhaeltnis, es betrug 1.15. Die Reynoldszahl der Untersuchung war Re = 1.23.105. Die Wirbelviskositaeten senkrecht und parallel zu den Waenden wurden aus den gemessenen Groessen ermittelt. Sie weichen erheblich von bisher bekannten Daten und Ansaetzen in Rechenprogrammen ab.
