Missing symmetries, unseen quarks and the physical vacuum

Creators

Description

The author discusses the connections of symmetry breaking and quark confinement with the structure of the physical vacuum. In this connection he considers analogies between QED superconductivity and the QCD vacuum. Finally he discusses in this framework the experimental results on ππ interferometry in collisions of an 16O beam with 200 GeV/nucleon on an Au target. (HSI)
