Creators

Description

Full text: Fine needle aspiration biopsy of the pancreatic tumor can provide diagnostic tissue of malignant pancreatic diseases. The aim is to assess the time and the need for biopsies of large tumor formations of the pancreas, using diagnostic information from them and how it affects the therapeutic behavior. Traditionally, computer tomography and transabdominal ultrasonography is used for guiding the aspiration of tissue samples from pancreatic masses. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is introduced as an alternative, for a better presentation of some of the tumor formations. Assess of the choice of method according to the location of the object of interest. The study included 147 patients (126 men and 21 women) with a final diagnosis of pancreatic neoplasm. Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA) and Fine Needle Biopsies (FNB) under imaging control were performed. Cyto and histological preparations were prepared and assessed. Compared with the end results are evaluated specificity, sensitivity and accuracy of imaging methods. the author proposes an algorithm for diagnostic and therapeutic behavior. The presented algorithm behavior based on symptomatology, imaging characteristics and study results from FNA and FNB allows satisfactory basis for adequate therapeutic management of pancreatic lesions
