Environmental importance of the 107Ag(n,γ) 108Agm reaction in nuclear power reactors, and new σ0γ and Iγ measurements

Description
127-year 108Agm is an (nγ) activation product of 107Ag and is produced in nuclear power reactors. Due to the wide range of reported values for the σ0γ cross section of the 107Ag(n,γ) 108Agm reaction, new measurements were made - resulting in a σ0γ value of 0.477 +- 0.033 barn, and an Iγ value of 0.80 +- 0.l5 barn. The environmental importance of the 110Agm and 108Agm radionuclides is discussed. (author)
