Multiplicity and inclusive spectra of γ rays in π-p interactions with production of strange particles

Description
The production of γ rays in π-p interaction at 40 GeV/c has been studied in three inclusive reactions, with and without strange particles. We have determined cross sections for production of γ rays in these reactions and their average multiplicities, and also the differential cross sections for γ-ray production. A comparative analysis of the results is carried out to determine the effect of production of Λ hyperons and K0/sub S/ mesons on the γ-ray characteristics studied. In addition, the experimental data for the reaction π-p→γ+... are compared with the corresponding characteristics of γ rays at other energies
