Electroweak effects in e+e- annihilation

  • 1. Nuclear Physics Laboratory, University of Oxford (UK)

Description

Electroweak effects observed in e+e- annihilation are reviewed and compared with the predictions of the standard model. The μ, tau, γ and b quark asymmetries lead to axial coupling constants for these fermions which are consistent with the predictions and all evidence on the vector couplings implies that sin2 theta sub(w) approximately 0.25. Future experiments will lead to more quantitative tests and possibly even measurements of the s quark asymmetry
