NMR study of uranium ternary compound U3Cu3Sn4

  • 1. Faculty of Integrated Arts and Sciences, Hiroshima Univ. (Japan)

Description

The 63Cu and 119Sn Knight shifts in U3Cu3Sn4 are anisotropic, and their isotropic values versus the susceptibility curves are linear above about 80 K for 63Cu and 119Sn, yielding the hyperfine coupling constants Ahf=-4.8 and +35.7 kOe/μB for 63Cu and 119Sn, respectively. The small negative value of 63Ahf suggests d-like conduction electron states at Cu sites. The nuclear relaxation rate 1/T1 of 63Cu shows a dependence of T1T∝(T-36) above about 70 K, suggesting that U3Cu3Sn4 is an exchange-coupled system consisting of U 5f localized moments. (orig.)
