Description

Gadolinium molybdate crystals Gd2(MoO4)3 subjected to bending and torsion at simultaneous superposition of the external uniform electric field were studied. Reconstruction of the domain structure at non-uniform deformations and interaction of the domain, structure with electric field are considered. Reconstruction of such structures under the effect of external factors is shown to result in electromechanical effects: direct one-change of the charge on polar crystal faces when changing its non-uniform deformation, and reverse one-change of the value of non-uniform deformation (or external momentum) under the action of the uniform electric field applied along the polar crystal axis. Both these effects are even in respect to the change of external action sign as opposed to known effects of ferroelastic-ferroelectric repolarization at uniform mechanical and electric actions
