Effect of an external magnetic field on the dynamics of charge and current-neutralized electron beam in a plasma

Description
The two-dimensional dynamics of a charge- and current-neutralized electron beam in a magnetoactive plasma is investigated numerically and analytically. Longitudinal magnetic field is shown to be able to stabilize beam filamentation in a collisionless plasma. The instability threshold for the magnetic field is absent in a collision plasma. Numerical and experimental results are in satisfactory agreement
