Meteorological aspects in planning and operating nuclear power stations
Description
The description of the climatic conditions of an industrial site must take into account the type, size and mode of operation of the plant to be built there. For this reason, it will not even be the same in every respect when assessing nuclear power stations, because of the different amounts of heat released and the type of cooling towers used. Accordingly, most descriptions are concerned mainly with an assessment of the meteorological conditions governing the distribution of airborne substances (gases, radioactive substances). This is followed by an estimate of man-made factors influencing the climate, in this case, the cooling towers. Statements as differentiated as this require special meteorogical measurements over a period of approximately two years. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
(orig.)Additional details
