Progress in welding technology of cryogenic steel in China
Description
This paper summarizes the study and achievement on new cryogenic Ni-steel for -40 C ∼ -100 C pressure vessel service and the suitable welding techniques for recent ten years in China. The authors analyze the characteristics of domestic welding materials for the cryogenic steel and point out that using Re(Y)-Ti-B microalloying system is an important feature of welding materials for the Ni-containing steel. The steel and manufacture of the cryogenic pressure vessels for -40 C ∼ -100 C service can be basically home-made and will gradually gain wide applications in China
