A 64 channel Fastbus integrating A/D converter for high bandwith H.E.P. data acquisition systems

  • 1. Fermi National Accelerator Lab., Batavia, IL (United States)

Description

This paper describes a 64 channel Fastbus ADC with 13 bits of dynamic range and a conversion time of approximately 20uSec for average channel occupancies. The use of input and output buffers minimizes dead time at high trigger rates. The advent of high performance low cost monolithic ADCs for digital audio tape recorders and 200 MHz GBW monolithic operational amplifiers makes a low cost high performance design possible
