On the stochastic instability of high-epergy protons of the inner radiation belt at low altitudes

Description

The lifetime and fluxes of captured protons of the inner radiation belt at energies W > or approximately 100 MeV specified by non-adiabatic motion at low altitudes and high latitudes in the Brazil anomaly region are determined. Stochastic instability is considered as a non-adiabatic mechanism. The losses caused by stochastic instability are shown to exceed the atmospheric losses at altitudes h > or approximately 300 m
