Electrochemical properties of iron-boron amorphous alloy before and after structural relaxation

  • 1. Moskovskij Inst. Stali i Splavov, Moscow (USSR)

Description

The change of zero charge potential is studied by impedance method and the change of equilibrium potential and exchange currents of Fe= Fe2++Ce reaction before and after structural relaxation, Fe80Be20 and Fe70Cr15B15 amorphous alloys (AA) - by cyclic voltametry method (CVA). It is indicated that in the initial state EZC and Eo on AA are more negative than on iron and their charge correlates with the structural relaxation occurrenc under AA thermal treatment. It is revealed that amorphous state is characterized by high values of exchange currents (by three orders higher than for crystal state). The change of electrochemical properties of AA is connected with the changes of their electron and cluster structure under annealing
