Description
This study contains several categories of optical materials that are used in the conversion or modification of solar energy for heating and lighting purposes in buildings and other structures. Some materials are covered that can be used in conjunction with photovoltaic or thermal electric generation systems. In many cases the basic properties of these materials are discussed along with their engineering applications. In certain cases where appropriate, theoretical or physical modeling is discussed.
