Effect of comparatively low doses of γ-rays (60Co) on the activity of polyphenoloxidase
Creators
Description
Seeds were exposed to doses of 2000, 4000, 8000 and 16000 R. Marked activation of polyphenoloxidase was detected after a dose of 2000 R which was confirmed by a subsequent series of our studies. The results obtained by the authors prompt the conclusion that the enzymatic system is mainly resposible for manifestation of a stimulatory effect ionizing radiation
