Study on the absorption of the soft x radiation from the external source by high-current pulse discharge plasma in lithium vapors

Description
A method has been developed for measuring plasma density directly from the absorption of a beam of soft X-radiation produced by a high-intensity X-ray tube. The time distribution of plasma density was measured for a high-current discharge in lithium vapours, as was the photoabsorption cross-section for the Li II ion in the 8-16 A spectrum range. (author)
