Description
In nuclear installation, safety is the most important factor. Any operation anomaly must be handled as soon as possible in order to mitigate the risks. In this research an expert system development is treated for supporting operator in handling nuclear reactor incidents. This expert system is implemented in Visual Basic, and uses on-line external alarm signals as inputs. The knowledge base is implemented following the relational database model. The experiment results has shown that the expert system could provide recommendation about events, consequences and measures for the operator if some incident has appeared. Moreover the rules in the knowledge base allow the detection of fault alarms. (author)
