To the nonlinear theory of interaction of quasimonochromatic wave pachets with energetic plasma electrons

Description

Dynamics of modulation effects in interaction of wave packets of the whistle type and electron flow is investigated by the method of numerical experiment. A number of peculiarities of amplitude packet modulation is revealed. The interaction process is characterized by the finite time of establishing. It is shown, that the packet interaction process with electron flows has the finite time of establishment tau0, which is maximal in the case of a monochromatic beam (tau0 approximately γ0-1) and decreased with decreasing the thermal velocity of beam particles. Because of this, in the first place, the initial packet section with length less than (Vsub(R)tausub(0)) does not amplify and, in the second place, the packet, for which the nonlinear time is more than tau0, evolve with increments less than linear ones; in this case the modulation develops weakly. The given method of the numerical modelling is comparatively economic
