Description
The experimental and theoretical study of development and suppression of laser plasma expanding transverse to a magnetic field was carried out in the presence of a rarefied background gas. The laser plasma was generated as a result of interaction of neodymium laser radiation with a flat carbon target (the flux density is q=1011 W/cm2, pulse time is τ=10 ns). It is shown that flute instability in the laser plasma can be suppressed by increasing the gas pressure and by decreasing the magnetic field value
