Description
The spin orientation of rapidly rotating and deformed nuclei can be evaluated event-by-event from the angular pattern of E2 γ-radiation, using multi-element 4π detectors. The accuracy and sensitivity of the method have been studied in Monte Carlo simulations. The spin axis can be determined within approx.=+250 in the plane perpendicular to the beam direction for typical γ-ray multiplicities of Msub(γ) proportional 25. (orig.)
