Electron spin resonance of defect centres in CaSO4:Dy
Description
Electron spin resonance measurements in the temperature range 2.7 to 20K have shown that the Dy3+ ions in dysprosium doped CaSO4 occupy a number of different lattice sites. Both the temperature and orientation dependences of the CaSO4:Dy3+ electron spin resonance spectra are complex. It is not clear at this stage whether a dominant orthorhombic rare earth site, such as those found in CaSO4:Eu3+ and CaSO4:Gd3+, is present in CaSO4:Dy3+. (author)
