The transition analysis of air-water flow patterns in inclined pipe

  • 1. Power and Nuclear Engineering Inst. in Harbin Engineering Univ., Harbin (China)

Description

The transition analysis of co-current air-water flow patterns was conducted and the transition criterion correlations were presented with two inclination angles (15 degree, 30 degree) in a 15 mm diameter, 6 m long acrylic pipe installed on an inclinable trestle. The results showed that the experimental results made a good agreement with the theoretical results of the transition boundary between slug flow and bubble flow. However, the good agreement results between slug flow and annular flow were given just under low liquid flow rate. (author)
