Optimizing human performance - The cutting edge

Subsequent to the TMI incident, a multifaceted approach was taken to 'right the wrongs' associated with the operation of nuclear power plants. Recognizing the complexities associated, no one aspect could ''stand alone''. The interrelationships became another complicating factor. Several years later, with Control Room Design Review work coming to an end, and Accrediation proceeding at a hectic pace have the true interrelationships surfaced. The need to integrate these various activities has become acute. This paper presents an approach used to quantify the relationships and systematically integrate the activities into a cohesive result
