Physicochemical study of high-temperature interaction between Ca2Nb2O7 and La3NbO7

Description
Phase equilibria are studied in the system Ca2Nb2O7-La3NbO7 in the 1300 deg C - m.p. range. The existence is established of pyrochlore-type compound of composition Casub(4/3)LaNbsub(5/3)Osub(7) and of solid solutions on its basis cubic and rhombic-distorted in the concentration range of La3NbO7 from 33 to 90 mol% and of solid solution on the basis of La3NbO7 of the type of fluorite derivative in the 90-100 mol% range of La3NbO7. The properties of solid solutions (structure parameters, density, refractive indexes) vary with the composition
