Nucleation cellar dendrite crystallization of the Al-Mg-Ti-Zr alloy
Description
Nucleus crystallization of the Al-Mg alloy containing Zr and Ti as modifiers has been studied. Cellular dendrite formations poor in magnium have been observed in the solid solution of the alloy. The cellular dendrites are generated and grow from intermetallides based on Al3(Zr,Ti) whose structure corresponds to that of the dendrites. It is shown that variation and the shape of cellular dendrites depend on the effect of crystallization centres and on the thermal treatment which determines the alloy homogeneity
