Quantum criticality and superconductivity in heavy-electron metals

Description

Recent work on strongly correlated electron systems realized in heavy-fermion (HF) metals is reviewed. Particular emphasis is put on different types of antiferromagnetic quantum critical points (QCPs). HF superconductivity seems to be favored only in the presence of a QCP of conventional (spin-density-wave) rather than of unconventional nature. (copyright 2005 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH and Co.
