Contribution of quark degrees of freedom to the weak NN interaction

Description
We calculate the contribution of the contact weak interaction between quarks to the value of the longitudinal analyzing power AL in pp scattering at low energy. The strong interaction of the quarks is described by an oscillator potential and the weak interaction by the Weinberg--Salam Lagrangian. The contribution of the mechanism in question to AL is approximately -(1--2)·10-7, which is close to the experimental value
