Transmission grating for soft x-ray spectroscopy
Description
Recent advances in the nano-structure and thin film fabrication technology enable us to obtain high quality transmission gratings, and to extend their application in the field of soft x-ray spectroscopy. The characteristics of the optical design using transmission gratings are summarized in comparison with the reflection gratings. Practical considerations in designing the grating structure are also described. (author)
