Status of the Belle experiment

In this paper, we present the status and first data from the Belle experiment. A brief introduction will summarize the physics motivations for the detector and the current state of the physics analysis will be presented. Because Belle is currently taking and analyzing data, the reader is referred to the experiment's web page for the most up-to-date information on the experiment
