Application of heterogeneous flotation for separation of some long living fission products

Description
The purpose of the research work was investigation of flotation separation of colloidal ferricianides of heavy metals with precipitated cesium and determination of process conditions and possibilities for its practical application. In experiment, as floating collector some surfactants were used. Results of investigations on flotation separation of heavy metals ferricianides were used for estimation of practical fitness of the method for cesium-137. Influence of pH of medium and different concentrations of reagents with cesuim-137 separation was determined. The method proved to be practically applicable for separation of main quantities of cesium-137 (about 97%) with comparatively small expenditure of ferricianide. (I.T.)
