Description
Gallium-67-DTPA-fibrinogen has been prepared and its biodistribution in Balb/C mice has been studied. The labelling yield is of the order of 60-85%. The clottable protein is about 61% at 24 hours and reduced to 47% at 48 hours. Biodistribution in Balb/C mice shows the expected pattern in different organs, with the highest specific activity in the kidneys followed by that in the liver. The blood clearance is somewhat rapid. The stability and biodistribution data indicate that radiolabelling can be successfully accomplished by using a chelating agent, and 67Ga-67-DTPA-fibrinogen can be a potential agent for the detection of thrombi
