Studying the chromium-graphite transition layer by means of a nuclear probe

Using a nuclear microprobe the distributions of chemical elements in a coating from a chromium on graphite were investigated. The coating was made by a method of vacuum diffusion saturation. From a distribution of chromium a stoichiometry of carbide and parameters of a diffusion of chromium in graphite were defined
