The coherent component of the heavy-ion elastic scattering cross section
Description
A new method for the analysis of heavy-ion elastic scattering is suggested. The method is based on a decomposition of the cross-section into a Rutherford, incoherent and coherent components. The incoherent component is directly related to the total reaction cross-section, and may be calculated once the latter is given. Through a careful study of the remaining, coherent, component of the cross-section, one may extract several useful properties of the system. Applications of the scattering of 12C on 24Mg and 16O on 28Si at several energies are made. (Author)

Sugere-se um novo metodo para analise de choque elastico de ion-pesado. O metodo e baseado na decomposicao dos componentes incoerentes e coerentes da sessao de choque de Rutherford. O componente incoerente esta diretamente relacionado com a reacao total da sessao de choque, e pode ser calculado se o componente coerente for dado. Atraves de um estudo cuidadoso do restante dos componentes coerentes da sessao de choque, pode-se extrair varias propriedades uteis do sistema. Sao feitas aplicacoes para choques de 12C com 24Mg e 16O com 28Si em varias energias. (M.A.F.)Files
