Nuclear energy and the environment
Description
The experiences of nuclear power generation are evaluated from economic and environmental aspects. The risk of radiation originating from the operation of nuclear power plants is analysed. The safety principles and systems of modern water-water reactors are discussed. The open questions of ful fuel reprocessing and radioactive waste disposal are pointed out. (R.J.)
