The Imaging Spectrum of Pulmonary Infections in Transplant Patients
Description
Infections in patients who have undergone bone marrow or solid organ are common, and one of the most frequently affected organs is the lung. It is important to recognize which microorganisms are the most commonly implicated in pulmonary infections in this population. Furthermore, an understanding of their time of appearance and radiographic manifestations are essential in obtaining a correct diagnosis in order to begin an effective treatment plan. The purpose of this article is to present a review of the review the most common radiographic patterns for each of the most frequently involved pathogens, as well as their temporal relation according to the type of transplant received by the patient.
