Divertor for thermonuclear device
Description
Purpose: To suppress the vibrations of a separatorix passing through the throat. Constitution: A throat is formed near the crossing point of a separatorix defining the plasma boundary so that impurities in the plasma flowing out of the neutralized plasma can be prevented from entering into the plasma again. Further, vibration suppressing coils are provided near the throat and electric current is applied therethrough opposing to the plasma current. Since this increases the field gradient at the throat where the magnetic field is zero, decreases the displacing width of the field zero point and narrows the gap of the throat, the divertor efficiency can be improved.
