Stabilization of ion cyclotron turbulence in mirror machines
Description
The saturation level of ion cyclotron turbulence in mirror machines is examined by using the perturbed-orbit formalism. The non-linear effects give rise to the perturbation of the orbits and are represented by a turbulent diffusion that leads to the saturation of the unstable modes. For 2XIIB, the calculated saturation level agrees well with the observed values. (author)
