Preliminary studies on the dosimetric properties of CaSO4:Mn by using EPR spectroscopy technique

Description
Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) signal of CaSO4:Mn powder at room temperature has been studied with the objective of to characterization this material for dosimetric applications. In this first stage, the study involved the interpretation and identification of the main components of the EPR spectrum for irradiated and not irradiated samples. Its was evaluated the variation of the shape and signal amplitude of the EPR signal with the dose absorbed and concentration of Mn and also the fading of EPR signal. The results indicate that the thermal treatment and Mn concentration in the samples are critical factors in the process. (author)
