Properties of commercial adsorbent materials for decontamination of low-activity waste waters

  • 1. Staatliches Amt fuer Atomsicherheit und Strahlenschutz, Berlin (German Democratic Republic)

Description

Adsorbent materials for the decontamination of radioactive liquid effluents are characterized in the CMEA member countries according to unified methods which include specifications for determining general parameters as grain size distribution, moisture content, mechanical and chemical stability as well as special parameters as ion-exchange capacities, distribution coefficients and rates of exchange. Following these instructions, parameters for 18 commercially available materials have been determined and tabulated. (author)
