Investigation of the 56Fe(γ,n)55Fe and 57Fe(γ,n)56Fe reactions near the threshold

Description
Cross sections of 56Fe(γ, n)55Fe and 57Fe(γ, n)56Fe reactions in the neutron energy range of 1 to 100 keV are measured. To determine values of strength functions the experimental photoneutron spectra are processed by analyzing resonances according to the form method. Parameters according to which neutron strength functions Ssub(n) and strength functions for gamma quanta transitions into the ground state Ssub(γsub(0)) of the 57Fe and 56Fe isotopes are presented. Comparison of the Ssub(n) and Ssub(γsub(0)) obtained values with the results of experimental and theoretical data reveal good agreement of the Ssub(n) value for the 56Fe and 57Fe compound nuclei with the known systematics of the neutron strength functions. The radiation strength functions for 56Fe and 57Fe are in good agreement with the experimental data of other experiments as well
