Measurement of the ion temperature in Petula from the Doppler broadening of impurity lines
Description
The impurities temperature in PETULA has been obtained with a high resolution spectrometer from the Doppler broadening. A critical study of the precision of the measurements has been made and the influence of the decharge reproductibility has been shown. Moreover, the measured temperature does not agree necessarily with the temperature in the region where the impurity concentration is the highest. Some solutions to improve the measurement precision are proposed

La temperature ionique dans PETULA a ete mesuree par elargissement Doppler des raies d'impuretes avec un spectrometre a tres haute resolution. Une etude critique de la precision de la mesure par cette technique a ete faite, et on montre l'influence de la reproductibilite des decharges sur la precision. De plus, la temperature mesuree ne correspond pas necessairement a la temperature de la region ou la concentration d'impuretes est la plus elevee.
