A study on the thermoluminescence in γ-irradiated polyethylene

  • 1. Dongguk Univ., Seoul (Republic of Korea). Coll. of Liberal Art and Science

Description

Thermoluminescence (TL) during warming has been found in previously oxidized polyethylene after γ-irradiation in air at room temperature. During warming, TL peak appears at about 380 K, close to crystalline melting temperature. It appears that the presence of crystallites is essential for an appearance of the TL, and that the oxides due to ozone contribute to the TL. (author)
