Approximate solution of the equations of the model describing highly excited states of even-even deformed nuclei

  • 1. Joint Inst. for Nuclear Research, Dubna (USSR)

Description

A model proposed earlier to describe the intermediate- and high-energy excitation states of odd-mass deformed nuclei is generalized for the case of even-even nuclei. The wave function contains one-, two-, three- and four-phonon terms. A method of approximation that takes account of non-coherent pole terms is used to obtain approximate solutions of the model. The system of equations is reduced to a secular equation which has no extraneous solutions. The equations thus obtained can serve as the basis for a study of the structure of intermediate- and high-energy excitation states of even-even deformed nuclei. (author)
